April 6 Maxwell Golf Course--Swing4Autism Golf Tournament--

volunteers needed for all-day golf  tournament. Please let me know if you are interested. We need about a dozen volunteers.

April 27 Autism Walk--Abilene Zoo 9:00am to noon.

Walk team-Cisco College, please sign up HERE. --raise money for Autism Speaks. Walk members get tee shirt.

Volunteer at Walk (need to arrive around 7:30)--provide assistance at walk, setting up, manning booths and other assignments, email me. Volunteers are provided with a volunteer tee.

What is your gut reaction to the idea that we are less violent? This is the availability heuristic--what you can recall off the top of your head. You will often have a hard time reconciling what you believe with contradictory information. You will feel a need to argue that something may be true for others but not for you.

Considering Language

Every year, the Special Olympics hosts the Spread the Word to end the R-word campaign. We will explore this campaign and the rhetoric involved in using pejorative language to describe behaviors and individuals and how that language might be harmful.
